Landwind was a car brand under the ownership of Jiangling Motor Holding (JMH), a Chinese automotive company formed as a partnership between Jiangxi Guokong Automotive Investment Corporation, Jiangling Motors Corporation Group, and Changan Automobile. The brand's origins can be traced back to 1998 when Sun Min, the chairman of JMCG, established Jiangling Lufeng (Landwind) Automobile Co., Ltd. The primary goal was to create an independent marque that would enhance JMCG's technical capabilities and reduce reliance on partnerships with Ford and Isuzu. The plan was for Landwind vehicles to be designed by Lufeng while utilizing Isuzu's production lines for manufacturing.
