Lone Star

Lone Star, a fleeting yet historic automobile marque, traces its origins to the early 20th century in San Antonio, Texas. Founded by the Lone Star Motor Truck and Tractor Association, the brand's life spanned a brief but impactful period from 1919 to 1922. Their initial offering, the Lone Star Beauty Four, featured a Lycoming engine and was later joined by the Beauty Six with a Continental engine. These models were assembled in Lynchburg, Virginia, and were known for both their aesthetic appeal and robust engineering. However, the closure of the Piedmont Motor Car Company factory in 1922 marked the end of Lone Star’s vehicle production. The marque’s legacy remains a testament to early American automotive innovation, encapsulating a brief but vibrant chapter in the industry’s history. Transitioning to the present, the Lone Star name lives on through the International LoneStar, a modern truck by Navistar International. Launched in 2009, this model integrates classic design elements with advanced technology, emphasizing aerodynamics and fuel efficiency. Its standout features include a distinctive front grille and a range of configurations tailored for long-haul applications. The current LoneStar models are equipped with the powerful Cummins X15 engine, enhancing both performance and operational efficiency. This contemporary iteration of the Lone Star legacy continues to make a mark in the heavy truck market, combining style with substantial hauling capabilities.
