Private hire vehicles: Also called minicabs or private hire taxis, these are licensed for pre-booking only, offering a more controlled form of transportation. 3. Taxibuses: Found in developing countries, taxibuses operate on pre-set routes with multiple stops, catering to numerous independent passengers. 4. Limousines: Specialized vehicles licensed for pre-booking, offering a luxurious and exclusive mode of transportation. Although taxi regulations, vehicle types, and hiring methods vary between countries, common characteristics exist across the industry. Issues surrounding the regulation of ridesharing services as taxicabs have led many jurisdictions to introduce new rules and regulations to accommodate these evolving forms of transportation. The taxi industry continues to adapt to technological advancements and changing consumer preferences to provide efficient and convenient services to passengers.
