The third generation of Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class, later renamed as the SLC-Class (series R172), was introduced in January 2011 in Stuttgart, with a public debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and international sales commencing in spring 2011. This model succeeded the R171 series of roadsters which initially debuted in 2004. The SLC-Class was eventually discontinued after the 2020 model year. Key points: 1.
