1998 – 2005

The Nissan Frontier is a versatile pickup truck nameplate that has been used by Nissan across various regions. In North America, it was introduced in 1997 as a replacement for the Hardbody model. Historically, the Frontier was marketed alongside the globally popular Navara and NP300 models, but since 2021, the North American Frontier has been developed as a distinctive model catered specifically to the needs of the US and Canadian markets. Key points: 1. Nameplate Evolution: The Frontier nameplate was introduced in North America in 1997, succeeding the Hardbody model, which had been in the market earlier. 2. Market Distinction: Unlike previous iterations that shared similarities with the Navara and NP300 models, the 2021 Frontier in the US and Canada is a unique model specifically designed for North American preferences. 3. Enhanced Features: The newer version of the Frontier boasts larger dimensions and advanced technology to cater effectively to the demands of the North American market. Overall, the Nissan Frontier has evolved over the years to cater to different global markets, with the North American model now standing out as a distinct offering tailored to the needs of customers in the US and Canada.
