Nissan NV350 E26

2012 – 2020

The Nissan Caravan is a light commercial van designed for fleet and cargo use by Nissan since 1973. It is also known as the Nissan Urvan or Nissan King Van outside Japan and was sold with Datsun badging in earlier years. The Caravan's design adheres to Japanese Government dimension regulations, utilizing a cabover layout to maximize interior space while staying within defined exterior dimensions to avoid higher taxes on larger vehicles. The Caravan was initially a rebadged version of the Nissan Homy, which debuted as a separate model in 1965 and was sold until 1997. The Homy, offered independently from 1965 to 1976, shares a similar design philosophy with the Caravan. Key Points: 1. The Nissan Caravan is a light commercial van ideal for fleet and cargo purposes. 2. It has been manufactured by Nissan since 1973 and sold as the Nissan Urvan outside Japan. 3. The cabover design maximizes interior space while meeting strict Japanese Government size regulations. 4. Before 1973, the Caravan's counterpart was the Homy, introduced in 1965 and sold until 1997. 5. The vehicle was marketed under different names in various markets, such as the Urvan and King Van. 6. The design evolution of the Caravan includes a transition from being a rebadged Homy to an independent model.
