Nissan Pathfinder R51

2004 – 2014

The Nissan Pathfinder is a series of sport utility vehicles produced by Nissan since 1986. Initially based on Nissan's compact pickup truck platform, it shared this platform with the Navara/Frontier models until the third generation. This led to a similar appearance between the front end of the D21 (first generation) and R51 (third generation) Pathfinders with the Navara/Frontier models up to the B-pillars. Outside of North America, the Pathfinder was marketed as the Nissan Terrano. In 2004, the R51 series was introduced internationally under the Pathfinder name. Key Points: 1. The Nissan Pathfinder has been in production since 1986 as a line of sport utility vehicles. 2. Previous generations of the Pathfinder were based on Nissan's compact pickup truck platform shared with the Navara/Frontier models. 3. The first and third generations of the Pathfinder shared a notably similar front end design with the Navara/Frontier models up to the B-pillars. 4. The Pathfinder was known as the Nissan Terrano in markets outside of North America. 5. The R51 series, starting in 2004, was marketed globally as the Pathfinder, unifying the model name across regions. Overall, the Nissan Pathfinder has a rich history of blending rugged utility with modern design features, making it a popular choice in the SUV market for several decades.
