The Nissan Sentra is a line of cars produced by Nissan since 1982. Initially categorized as a subcompact car, it transitioned to a compact car classification in 1999. From 1982 to 2006, the Sentra was essentially an export model of the Japanese Nissan Sunny before being rebranded as the Sylphy in 2013. Interestingly, the name "Sentra" is not used in Nissan's home country of Japan, with the Sunny being the equivalent model there.
