The Opel Crossland, a subcompact crossover SUV (B-segment), made its debut in 2017 and has been marketed by Opel. In the United Kingdom, it is known as the Vauxhall Crossland and was officially showcased to the media in January 2017 before its official public reveal at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017. Initially named the Opel and Vauxhall Crossland X, it became available for sale in the summer of the same year. The decision to launch the Crossland came as a response to the increasing demand for crossovers and SUVs within the B-segment, leading to the discontinuation of the Opel Meriva, a compact MPV model.
