The Opel Kapitän, a luxury car produced by German manufacturer Opel from 1938 to 1970 across multiple generations, made its debut as the last new Opel model before the onset of World War II. Development of the Kapitän began in 1938, with the official launch taking place at the Geneva motor show in the spring of 1939. Manufacturing commenced in November of the same year. The Kapitän offered a range of body styles to cater to various customer preferences, with the 4-door saloon emerging as the most sought-after option. Additionally, 2-door coupé cabriolets were also part of the lineup, appealing to those looking for a more sporty and open-top driving experience.
