The Opel Senator is a prestigious full-size executive car that was manufactured by Opel, a German automaker. There were two generations of the Opel Senator produced in Europe from 1978 to 1993. In its saloon form, the Senator was regarded as the flagship model for Opel and Vauxhall throughout its production lifespan. Initially available as a saloon, the Opel Senator also came in a fastback coupé body variant known as the Opel Monza and Vauxhall Royale Coupé. The car was marketed under different names in various markets through General Motors' international divisions. For example, it was sold as the Chevrolet Senator, Daewoo Imperial in South Korea, Vauxhall Royale (until 1983), and Vauxhall Senator thereafter when the Opel brand was phased out in 1983.
