Founded in 1947 by the Maserati brothers—Ernesto, Ettore, and Bindo—O.S.C.A. (Officine Specializzate Costruzione Automobili) emerged from a rich motorsport heritage. The Maserati siblings, having sold their previous company, sought to continue their passion for racing by creating a brand dedicated to producing high-performance racing cars. The brand made a spectacular entrance into the racing world with the O.S.C.A. MT4, their first model. The MT4 quickly garnered acclaim, particularly noted for its victory at the 1954 12 Hours of Sebring, an endorsement of the brand’s engineering prowess. Over the years, O.S.C.A.'s focus on exclusive, small production runs of specialized racing machines established it as a niche player in the automotive world, embodying the spirit of Italian ingenuity and bespoke craftsmanship. However, despite its prestigious beginnings and early successes in the racing circuits, O.S.C.A. faced challenges maintaining its position in a rapidly evolving automotive market. The company ceased automobile production in 1967, transitioning to focus on automotive engineering.
