The Plymouth Laser, a sleek two-door 2+2 sports coupe, was part of a trio of vehicles developed under the Diamond-Star Motors joint venture between Chrysler Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. Alongside its siblings, the Mitsubishi Eclipse and Eagle Talon, the Plymouth Laser was introduced in 1989 and remained in production until 1994.
Marketed as "the first Plymouth of the '90s," the Laser made its debut in January 1989 as a 1990 model. Prior to donning the Plymouth badge, a Chrysler Laser model was produced by the company from 1984 to 1986. The design of the Plymouth Laser was based on the Dodge Daytona model before transitioning to the Plymouth brand.
