The Pontiac Vibe, produced from 2002 to 2010, was a compact car created through a partnership between General Motors and Toyota. Its design and mechanical features were closely related to the Toyota Matrix. The Vibe was manufactured at the NUMMI plant in Fremont, California, which was a joint venture between Toyota and GM. It took over production at NUMMI from the Chevrolet Prizm and, like its predecessor, was based on the Toyota Corolla platform. This made the Vibe one of the last cars developed from the GM and Toyota S-body collaboration. Notably, between 2002 and 2004, a right-hand drive version of the Vibe was rebranded as the Toyota Voltz and exported to Japan.
