The Vibe shared its platform with the Toyota Matrix and was the successor to the Chevrolet Prizm at NUMMI. In a bid to tap into the Japanese market, a right-hand drive variant of the Vibe, known as the Toyota Voltz, was exported to Japan from 2002 to 2004.
