The Rover 400 Series, later rebranded as the Rover 45, encompassed a line of compact family cars manufactured by British automaker Rover between 1990 and 2005 in collaboration with Honda. The initial iteration, known as the Rover 400 (R8; 1990–1998), was introduced as a sedan model derived from the second-gen Rover 200 Series hatchback, both designated under the codename R8 during their developmental phase. This first-generation Rover 400 was primarily built on the platform of the Honda Concerto. Following this, the second-generation Rover 400 (R45) was based on the Honda Domani/Civic, highlighting the ongoing partnership between Rover and Honda. Key points: 1.
