The Rover 400 Series, later succeeded by the Rover 45, were small family cars manufactured by British company Rover between 1990 and 2005. The collaboration with Honda played a significant role in the development of these models. The first-generation 400 was based on the Honda Concerto platform, while the Mark II 400 (rebranded as the Rover 45) was built on the Honda Domani/Civic foundation. Interestingly, some Rover models utilized Honda petrol engines, and from the mid-1990s, Hondas began incorporating the competitive Rover L-series diesel engine before eventually developing their proprietary diesel engine.
