The Austin Maestro, a five-door hatchback small family car produced by British Leyland from 1982 to 1994, served as a successor to the Austin Maxi and Austin Allegro. It was manufactured at Morris' former Oxford plant, with sales totaling 605,000 units. The van variant of the Maestro replaced the Morris Ital van derivative. The production of the Maestro continued under the Rover Group after 1986, culminating in the model's retirement in December 1994.
