Sono Motors

Sono Motors, a trailblazer in the realm of sustainable mobility, was founded in 2016 by Laurin Hahn, Jona Christians, and Navina Pernsteiner in Munich, Germany. The company quickly distinguished itself with a forward-thinking approach to automotive design, focusing on electric vehicles integrated with solar panels. This innovative concept seeks to extend driving range by harnessing solar energy directly into the car's system. The brand's inaugural vehicle, the Sion, epitomizes their unique vision. Introduced as a prototype in 2017, the Sion is not just an electric car; it's a mobile charging station. Its body, embedded with numerous solar cells, is capable of adding significant range from solar power alone, showcasing a practical application of renewable energy in daily transportation. Despite facing the inherent challenges of breaking into the competitive automotive market, Sono Motors has persisted with its vision. The company's commitment to affordable and sustainable transportation solutions continues to resonate within the industry. Although still navigating the complexities of mass production and market acceptance, Sono Motors stands as a significant player in the push towards a greener automotive future, driven by innovation and a commitment to environmental responsibility.
