Subaru Crosstrek GP

2012 – 2017 · Japan

The Subaru Crosstrek, known globally as the Subaru XV for its first two generations, is a compact crossover SUV manufactured by Subaru since 2012. It serves as a successor to the Outback Sport in the United States and Canada, and the Impreza XV worldwide. The Crosstrek follows in the footsteps of the Outback Sport as a raised Impreza hatchback with some notable differences, featuring a more significant lift compared to its predecessor. Originally marketed as the XV across the globe and as the XV Crosstrek in the United States and Canada, Subaru made a branding adjustment in North America in 2015. The company dropped the XV designation in the US and Canada, opting to market the vehicle as the Crosstrek from the 2016 model year onwards. Key Points: 1. The Subaru Crosstrek is a compact crossover SUV launched by Subaru in 2012. 2. It succeeded the Outback Sport in North America and the Impreza XV internationally. 3. The Crosstrek is essentially a lifted Impreza hatchback with distinct characteristics, offering a more substantial lift than its predecessor. 4. Initially known as the XV globally, Subaru rebranded the vehicle to simply Crosstrek in the United States and Canada starting from the 2016 model year.
