Subaru Outback BD

1995 – 1999

The Subaru Outback is a versatile automotive nameplate used by Japanese automaker Subaru for two distinct vehicles: the Outback crossover station wagon and the Outback Sport off-road themed hatchback. The Outback models have typically featured all-wheel drive as standard equipment, making them ideal for various road conditions and terrains. Originating from the wagon version of the second-generation Subaru Legacy, the Outback station wagon was first introduced in 1994. Prior to the Outback, Subaru offered an Outdoor option package for the 1994 Legacy L all-wheel drive model, which included features such as compressed air strut height adjustable suspension, a luggage rack, a skid plate, and mud flaps. Additionally, a raised-roof "Touring Wagon" variant was available for the Subaru Leone in 1988 and 1989, foreshadowing the Outback's design changes. Both the Outback wagon and Outback Sport hatchback have undergone various cosmetic and suspension enhancements over the years to cater to different consumer needs. The Outback models have continued to evolve since their inception, providing drivers with a blend of comfort, practicality, and off-road capabilities. These vehicles have established a reputation for reliability, versatility, and all-weather performance in the automotive market. In summary, the Subaru Outback lineup offers a range of modern features and technologies, with a strong focus on providing a rugged and dependable driving experience for individuals seeking a versatile vehicle for both urban and off-road adventures.
