Subaru Outback BR

2009 – 2014

The Subaru Outback is a popular automotive nameplate used by Japanese automaker Subaru for two different SUV-themed vehicles: a Legacy-derived crossover station wagon and an Impreza-derived off-road themed hatchback. The Outback wagon, in production since 1994, features all-wheel drive as standard equipment in most versions. The history of the Outback dates back to the second-generation Subaru Legacy. The first-generation Legacy was introduced in 1989, but it was not until 1994 that the cosmetic and suspension modifications were made to create the Outback version. The Outback wagon was initially derived from the Legacy's wagon variant. Subaru offered an Outdoor option package for the 1994 Legacy L all-wheel drive model, adding features like compressed air strut height adjustable suspension, a luggage rack, skidplate, and mud flaps. Additionally, before the Outback, a raised-roof "Touring Wagon" variant had been available for the Subaru Leone in 1988 and 1989.
