The Subaru Alcyone SVX, known as the Subaru SVX outside Japan, was a luxurious two-door coupe produced by Subaru from 1991 to 1996. It marked Subaru's entry into the high-end luxury and performance car market, succeeding the XT series. One of its distinctive features was the unique 'window-within-a-window' side-glass design inspired by aircraft windows. The name "Alcyone" originates from the brightest star in the Pleiades constellation, which is also symbolized in Subaru's logo. The term "SVX" stands for "Subaru Vehicle X".
