TagAZ, short for Taganrogskiy Avtomobilnyi Zavod, was an automotive assembly plant in Taganrog, Russia, affiliated with the Rostov Truck Factory. The plant, which started construction in 1997, operated under license and technology from South Korean Daewoo Motors and was funded entirely by the Doninvest Finance & Industry Group, with an investment exceeding $260 million. In 1998, production of the Daewoo Lanos and Daewoo Nubira models began in semi-knocked-down form as a pilot project. Unfortunately, TagAZ faced financial difficulties and was declared bankrupt on January 21, 2014. The company's bankruptcy marked the end of its operations and production
