TagAZ

Taganrog Automobile Factory, commonly known as TagAZ, was established in 1997 in Taganrog, Russia. Founded by the entrepreneurial spirit of Mikhail Paramonov, TagAZ started its journey with a vision to carve out a niche in the bustling automotive market. The company initiated its manufacturing prowess by assembling vehicles from Hyundai, capitalizing on a growing demand for affordable yet reliable cars. The first car to symbolize TagAZ's independent endeavor was the TagAZ Vega, a vehicle that embodied the company's commitment to providing accessible transportation solutions to the masses. This model set the stage for a series of developments that aimed to blend practicality with performance. Despite a promising start and a series of achievements in the early 2000s, TagAZ faced significant challenges, leading to its bankruptcy in 2014. The economic downturn and stiff competition were critical factors that hindered its growth and sustainability. Today, while the production at TagAZ has ceased, the legacy of its ambition serves as a poignant chapter in the annals of automotive history, reminding us of the volatile nature of the car manufacturing industry.
