TagAZ, short for Taganrog Automobile Factory, was a car assembly plant situated in Taganrog, Russia, with an affiliated entity known as the Rostov Truck Factory. The plant commenced construction in 1997 with a license and technology from South Korean Daewoo Motors, funded entirely by the Doninvest Finance & Industry Group with investments exceeding US$260 million. By 1998, TagAZ initiated partial production of Daewoo vehicles like the Lanos and Nubira models in a semi-knocked-down manner. Unfortunately, on January 21, 2014, TagAZ was forced into bankruptcy.
