The Talbot Horizon, a compact hatchback, was manufactured by Chrysler Europe from 1978 to 1987 and was marketed under the Simca, Chrysler, and Talbot brand names. As a successor to the Simca 1100 and Hillman Avenger, the Horizon featured a front-wheel-drive layout with a transverse-engine design. This model line was a significant milestone for Chrysler Corporation as it was their first and only "world car," developed simultaneously with the American-market Dodge Omni/Plymouth Horizon.
