Toyota Caldina T240

2002 – 2007

The Toyota Caldina, produced from 1992 to 2007 exclusively for the Japanese market, was a versatile automobile that succeeded the Corona and Carina wagons. This model was available at Toyota Store and Toyopet Store locations in Japan and was known for its All-Trac 4WD capability and spacious interior design. Despite never being officially exported by Toyota, the Caldina became a popular choice as a grey import in various countries like Australia, New Zealand, Russia, and certain South American nations. The Caldina was recognized for its practicality and large capacity, making it sought after in regions where these features were valued. The name "Caldina" was derived from the Italian and English word "cardinal," which signifies essential or fundamental qualities, reflecting the car's importance in the Toyota lineup during its production run. In 2007, the Caldina was discontinued, and its market position was taken over by the T270 series Avensis wagon/estate. This marked the end of an era for the Caldina, which had built a reputation for reliability and utility among its dedicated user base over its years in production.
