Toyota Chaser X70

1984 – 1988 · Japan

The Toyota Chaser is a mid-size car manufactured by Toyota, initially as a four-door sedan and hardtop sedan, with a two-door coupé option uniquely available in the first generation. It was based on the Toyota Mark II (X30) platform and exclusively sold through Japanese Toyota Auto Store dealerships as their premium model. Over its production lifespan spanning six generations, the Chaser became known as one of Toyota's "triplet sedans," alongside the Mark II and the Cresta. These models shared the same underlying structure but were marketed through distinct dealership channels. The Chaser's production came to an end in 2001 when both it and the Cresta were succeeded briefly by the Verossa. Despite its discontinuation, the Chaser left a lasting legacy as a stylish and reliable mid-size vehicle popular among car enthusiasts. The different generations of the Chaser featured various technological advancements and design updates to cater to evolving consumer preferences. Key Points: 1.
