Designed as part of Toyota's IMV project for emerging markets, it shares its platform with the Hilux pickup truck and the Innova. The name "Fortuner" is inspired by the English word "fortune." Available with two or three rows of seats, the Fortuner comes in rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive configurations, catering to diverse driving situations.
