The Toyota Fortuner, also known as the Toyota SW4, is a mid-size SUV manufactured by Toyota since 2004. Designed as part of Toyota's IMV project for emerging markets, it shares its platform with the Hilux pickup truck and the Innova. The name "Fortuner" is inspired by the English word "fortune." Available with two or three rows of seats, the Fortuner comes in rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive configurations, catering to diverse driving situations. The first-generation model was developed in Thailand by a collaborative effort between Thai and Japanese engineers.
