The Toyota Sprinter Carib was a front-engine, all-wheel-drive station wagon produced by Toyota under the Sprinter nameplate from 1982 to 2002. The first generation was based on the second-generation Tercel and was sold as the Tercel AWD wagon outside of Japan. Subsequent generations were based on the Corolla/Sprinter wagons and exported as Corolla wagons. The "Carib" name was inspired by the caribou, symbolizing strength and grace as it moves over mountains and snow-covered plains.
