Volkswagen Parati G1

1980 – 1995

The Volkswagen Gol is a popular subcompact car that has been a mainstay in the Latin American market since 1980. It replaced the Volkswagen Type 1 (Fusca) and the Volkswagen Brasilia and has since become a key entry-level model for Volkswagen in that region. The Gol comes in various forms, including three- and five-door hatchbacks, two- and four-door sedans (known as the Volkswagen Voyage), three- and five-door station wagons (the Volkswagen Parati), and two-door single and extra-cab coupé utilities (the Volkswagen Saveiro). Noteworthy points about the Volkswagen Gol: 1. It debuted in 1980 as Volkswagen's primary offering in the Latin American market. 2. The Gol line includes models such as the Voyage, Parati, and Saveiro, which cater to different segments. 3. The Gol has enjoyed longstanding success, being the best-selling car in Brazil for 27 consecutive years and the top choice in Argentina since 1988. 4. Over five million Gol units have been produced in South America since its launch in 1980. 5. In March 2013, Volkswagen announced that the cumulative production of Gol and its derivatives had surpassed 10 million units. In conclusion, the Volkswagen Gol has been a consistent performer in the Latin American market, with its various variants winning over consumers and contributing significantly to the brand's success in the region.
