Volkswagen Parati G4

2005 – 2012

The Volkswagen Gol is a subcompact car produced by Volkswagen do Brasil since 1980, serving as the brand's entry-level vehicle in the Latin American market. It succeeded the Volkswagen Type 1 (Fusca) and Brasilia models. Variants include the Gol-derived Voyage and Parati, which were sold as the Volkswagen Fox in North America from 1987 to 1993. The Gol lineup features various body styles, including three- and five-door hatchbacks, two- and four-door sedans (Voyage), three- and five-door station wagons (Parati), and two-door single and extra-cab coupé utilities (Saveiro). The car has enjoyed significant success in both Brazil and Argentina, with the Gol holding the title of Brazil's best-selling vehicle for 27 consecutive years from 1987 to 2014 and being the top choice in Argentina since 1988. Over five million Gols have been produced in South America since its launch in 1980. An important milestone was reached in March 2013 when the cumulative production of the Gol and its derivatives hit 10 million units. The Gol's enduring popularity in the Latin American market underscores its significance as a staple offering from Volkswagen do Brasil. With its diverse range of body styles, reliable performance, and long-standing success, the Volkswagen Gol remains a key player in the subcompact car segment in the region.
