The Volvo Laplander L3314 is a series of military vehicles designed and manufactured by Volvo in response to an order received in the early 1950s to develop a new utility vehicle for the Swedish Army. The initial pre-run series, known as the L2304 and consisting of 90 vehicles, was delivered between 1959 and 1961. These vehicles were equipped with a Volvo B16 engine and laid the groundwork for further development. The main production model, the L3314, saw full-scale deliveries starting in 1963 after undergoing improvements based on feedback from the initial series. The Volvo Laplander L3314 was specifically crafted to meet the demanding requirements of military use, with a focus on ruggedness, reliability, and versatility
