The Volvo Sport, also known as P1900, was a Swedish fiberglass-bodied roadster produced by Volvo Cars between 1956 and 1957. A total of sixty-eight units were built, with Glasspar Company in California producing the initial 19 designs before production was shifted to Volvo's facilities in Sweden. The car was the brainchild of Assar Gabrielsson, Volvo's president and founder, who drew inspiration from the Chevrolet Corvette during a visit to the United States. Gabrielsson collaborated with Bill Tritt of Glasspar, a renowned American boatbuilder, to design and fabricate a fibreglass/reinforced polyester body for the Volvo Sport.
