Walter

GPT Walter Automobiles, born in the historic quarters of Prague in 1911, carved its niche initially through the manufacture of motorcycles before venturing into automobiles in 1913. Founded by Josef Walter, the company quickly evolved, producing models like the Walter WZ and Walter Super 6, reflecting innovation and luxury of the era. At its zenith in 1929, Walter was Czechoslovakia’s fourth-largest car manufacturer. However, the glory was short-lived as economic downturns saw production dwindle dramatically by the mid-1930s. Walter ceased car production in 1951, transitioning to aircraft engine manufacturing, a sector it continues to thrive in today, marking a legacy of resilience and adaptation in the face of changing industrial landscapes.
