The ZAZ Zaporozhets, a series of rear-wheel-drive superminis designed and manufactured at the ZAZ factory in Soviet Ukraine, made its debut in 1958 and continued production until 1994. These compact vehicles, initially categorized as city cars, shared a distinctive feature of having an air-cooled engine located in the rear. Various models were released over the years, with the ZAZ-968M marking the final series before the introduction of the ZAZ-1102 Tavria hatchback in the late 1980s.
