The Pontiac G8, a full-size sedan manufactured by Holden in Australia and imported to the United States by Pontiac, was introduced in early 2008 for the 2008 model year in the U.S. and in 2008 for the 2009 model year in Canada. Essentially a rebadged version of the Holden Commodore, it served as a successor to both the Pontiac Bonneville and Pontiac Grand Prix in the Pontiac lineup. However, production of the G8 came to an abrupt halt in mid-2009 following the suspension of the Pontiac brand by General Motors (GM).
