The Vector W8 was a high-performance sports car created by the American company Vector Aeromotive Corporation between 1989 and 1993. Designed by the company's founder, Gerald Wiegert, and refined by the head of engineering, David Kostka, the W8 was based on the earlier prototype, the Vector W2, which had been showcased during the 1980s. The development and production of the W8 were delayed following the public unveiling of the W2 in 1976, a time marked by global economic challenges and a lack of adequate financial support.
