Black Spur

Name: Black Spur
Address: Yarra Ranges, Victoria, Australia

By @drivesomeimages · Yarra Ranges, Victoria, Australia · Driving road

The Black Spur is the section of the Maroondah Highway between Healesville and Narbethong, where the road climbs through a cathedral of mountain ash, some of the tallest flowering trees on earth, with a carpet of tree ferns below. It is a highway, not a back road, so it is more about the setting than the pace. Stop at the Black Spur Inn in Narbethong, then come back via the Reefton Spur for a full loop.
