Col de Turini

Name: Col de Turini
Address: Alpes-Maritimes, France

By @drivesomeimages · Alpes-Maritimes, France · Driving road

The Col de Turini rises to 1,607 m in the mountains behind Nice and Monaco, and it is best known as a stage of the Monte Carlo Rally, where fans line the hairpins through the night. The climb from Sospel is a long run of tight switchbacks through pine forest, and the descent to La Bollène-Vésubie is just as twisty. The road is narrow, so it rewards a smooth, steady pace more than speed. Stop at the summit hotels for a coffee where rally crews have stopped for decades.
