Great Alpine Road, Mount Hotham

Name: Great Alpine Road, Mount Hotham
Address: Victorian Alps, Australia

By @drivesomeimages · Victorian Alps, Australia · Driving road

This section of the Great Alpine Road climbs steeply out of Harrietville, up through snow gum country to Mount Hotham and along the exposed ridge to Dinner Plain. It is one of the highest roads in Australia, with long views over the Alps in every direction. In winter this is ski country and the rules change completely, so check road conditions before you go. Bright, below Harrietville, makes a good base.
