The AMC Hornet, produced by American Motors Corporation (AMC) between 1970 and 1977, was a compact car available in two- and four-door sedan, station wagon, and hatchback coupe versions. The Hornet replaced the Rambler American line, discontinuing the Rambler marque in the US and Canadian markets. The car was also sold in foreign markets, where they were assembled under license agreements with local manufacturers such as Vehículos Automotores Mexicanos (VAM), Australian Motor Industries (AMI), and Toyota S.A.
