Asia

Asia Motors was a South Korean automaker that operated as a subsidiary of Kia Motors, producing light commercial vehicles, utility vehicles, and small trucks primarily for domestic and export markets. The company was known for rugged, utilitarian products rather than passenger cars, with its lineup reflecting practical transport needs across Asian and developing markets. The Rocsta was its most internationally recognized model, a compact 4x4 off-roader sold in several countries during the 1990s, while the Retona was a later SUV variant built on similar underpinnings. The Topic was a light van and the Towner a microvan, both aimed at small commercial operators. Asia Motors was absorbed into Kia following the financial restructuring that accompanied the 1997 Asian financial crisis, and the brand ceased to exist as a separate entity shortly thereafter.
