The Audi 80 is a compact executive car manufactured by Audi, a subdivision of the Volkswagen Group, produced over four generations spanning from 1966 to 1996. The Audi 80 platform was shared with the Volkswagen Passat between 1973 and 1986. It was available in various body styles including saloon and station wagon, with the latter marketed as the Avant by Audi. Additionally, there were coupé and convertible models based on the same platforms as the 80. In certain markets such as North America and Australia, the car underwent different names and branding. In North America, it was known as the Audi Fox from 1973 to 1979. This model was renamed the Audi 4000 from 1980 to 1987, and the 5+5 variant was introduced in the USA in 1981. Meanwhile, in Australia, it was referred to as the Audi 5+5 from 1981 to 1983.
