Brems, an early Danish car brand, represents a brief but notable chapter in automotive history. Founded by Julius Brems, it was the first car manufacturer in Denmark, established in the small town of Viborg. The journey began in 1900 when Julius Brems built and tested the Brems No. 1 Type A. This inaugural model featured a modest 2-cylinder engine, capable of achieving a top speed of 26 km/h and boasted impressive fuel efficiency for its time—about 21 km per liter of gasoline. Despite these innovations, the production was extremely limited, culminating in just eight cars by 1908. Though the Brems automotive venture was short-lived, closing its doors in 1907, the legacy of these early vehicles continues to resonate.
