The Bugatti Type 41 Royale is a large luxury automobile produced by Bugatti between 1927 and 1933, intended by Ettore Bugatti for sale exclusively to European royalty. Only six chassis were ever built, making it one of the rarest production cars in automotive history, and each example was bodied individually by coachbuilders including Kellner, Weinberger, and Park Ward. The car is powered by an 8-cylinder engine displacing approximately 12.7 liters, driving through a three-speed gearbox, and the chassis alone measured over 14 feet in wheelbase on the long-wheelbase configuration. The unsold chassis later found use powering French railcars, a practical application that highlighted the engine's considerable torque output and durability.
