The Ram pickup, currently marketed under the Ram Trucks brand since 2010, is a full-size truck manufactured by Stellantis North America. It debuted its fifth generation at the 2018 North American International Auto Show. Previously, Ram was part of Dodge's line of light trucks, with the Ram name first introduced in 1981. The history of Ram trucks dates back to October 1980 when the Dodge D series pickup trucks were rebranded as Rams. Despite this, the company had been featuring the ram's-head hood ornament on some trucks since 1933. Ram trucks have been recognized numerous times for their excellence, winning Motor Trend magazine's Truck of the Year award on eight occasions. The second-generation Ram claimed the title in 1994, the third-generation Ram heavy-duty model in 2003, and the fourth-generation Ram Heavy Duty in 2010. Furthermore, the fourth-generation Ram 1500 secured the award in 2013 and 2014. Notably, the current fifth-generation Ram pickup stands out as the only truck to win this prestigious award three times consecutively in 2019, 2020, and 2021.
