Fiat Uno 146

1983 – 1995

The Fiat Uno is a popular supermini car manufactured by Fiat, first launched in 1983 and produced until 1995 in Europe and until 2014 in Brazil. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign, the Uno featured a distinctive high-roof, up-right packaging inspired by Giugiaro's earlier concept car, the Lancia Megagamma. The Uno came in three and five-door hatchback body styles and underwent a facelift in 1989 during its single-generation production. With over 8.8 million units built, the Fiat Uno stands as the eighth most produced automobile platform in history, following iconic models like the Volkswagen Beetle, Ford Model T, and various GM platforms. The Uno's popularity and production numbers highlight its significance in the automotive industry. In a unique twist, the Uno name was reintroduced in 2010 in South America for the Fiat Mini (Economy) platform based car manufactured in Brazil. This reintroduction points to the enduring appeal and legacy of the Uno name, showcasing Fiat's efforts to leverage its past success for contemporary markets. Key Points: 1.
