The Ford Windstar, later known as the Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey, is a minivan manufactured by Ford as a successor to the Ford Aerostar. It featured a front-wheel drive configuration inspired by Chrysler minivans. Over three generations spanning from 1995 to 2007, the Windstar evolved into the Ford Freestar for its final iteration. Despite being distinct from the Nissan-developed Mercury Villager, the Windstar was not accompanied by a Lincoln-Mercury counterpart.
